Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services

SFBFS is the largest nonprofit provider of basic human needs in Sacramento County. On top of a food bank, the organization provides services regarding clothing, technology, adult learning, parent education, immigration and refugees, and utilities assistance. Its resources include clothing for a newborn baby, advising a teenager on a job interview, Immigration Legal Services and English as a Second Language classes.

 

Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento

The Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento provides a spectrum of services for youth in crisis across the Sacramento region. Types of care offered includes an on-site preschool for the youngest survivors of family trauma, outpatient mental health care for children residing in the community dealing with anxiety and depression, and residential treatment for children who have suffered abuse, neglect or other trauma.

Family Giving Tree

FGT is the largest holiday gift and backpack donation program in California. It runs both a holiday wish drive and a back to school drive for low income Northern California families. In 2021, FGT fulfilled over 51,000 holiday wishes and provided more than 25,000 supply-filled backpacks to children in need. FGT has served two million children and individuals throughout the greater Bay Area as it aims to inspire the values of kindness, philanthropy, and volunteerism in the community.

 

Wellspring Women’s Center

Wellspring Women’s Center serves approximately 200 Sacramento-based women and their children every weekday by providing healthy meals, case management, free counseling, art therapy, enrichment classes and workshops, and safety net services. Specific programs include a Children’s Corner Program with early learning opportunities and activities for children ages 3-8 and safety net services including bus passes, diapers, pads and tampons, hygiene kits, and more.
