San Antonio Food Bank

The San Antonio Food Bank serves 90,000 individuals a week in one of the largest service areas in Texas, with a 29 county service area. On top of food distribution, additional services include government benefits assistance, nutrition education, job assistance, a farmer’s market and in-school meals.

 

The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services

RAICES provides affirmative, defensive, and litigation services to low-income immigrants. With more immigration lawyers than any organization in Texas, in 2018 RAICES managed 37,863 cases at no cost to clients. The legal services extend from low-cost residency and citizenship services to pro-bono representation for families and children in detention, with service offerings for Residency & Citizenship Services, Asylum Seekers, Removal Defense, DACA, Legal Representation for Family and Children, and more.

THRU Project

THRU Project bridges the gap between foster care and adulthood for youth who age out of the foster care system.
​Exiting foster care alone at age 18 can be overwhelming. The statistics show increased rates of homelessness, unplanned pregnancy, and incarceration amongst foster alumni. THRU Project provides foster youth, ages 14 and up, with a volunteer mentor, free bus passes & cell phones, crucial life skills training, and affordable & stable housing.

The mission of Good Samaritan Community Services (Good Sam) is to serve as a catalyst for change, supporting youth, individuals and families by providing excellent community services to overcome economic poverty.

Feed The City: Dallas

Feed The City is a monthly volunteer opportunity where individuals come together at a local venue to make lunches for people in need. The lunches consist of sandwiches, chips and fruit. Feed The City events are open to all. It doesn’t matter how many people show up or what ages the volunteers are.
