Second Saturday Shoreline Spruce Up

Join For the Love of the Lake every second Saturday for our monthly Shoreline Spruce Up at White Rock Lake Park. Volunteers collect litter though out White Rock Lake Park, up White Rock Creek, and along the shoreline.
Our Second Saturday Shoreline Spruce Up tradition happens rain or shine, snow or heat without fail. We have been going strong without missing a Second Saturday since 1996! The premise is simple. Together, the East Dallas community transformed what was once a neglected and sometimes dangerous park into an urban oasis. This transformation is possible because volunteers collect litter in the park! Armed with trash bags, gloves, and a passion for East Dallas and its jewel White Rock Lake, this army of volunteers maintain and protect White Rock Lake Park for the enjoyment of all the residents of Dallas.
How it Works
Our drive-through (do not get out of your car) is open on the second Saturday of the month from 8:00 am to noon. FTLOTL volunteers will put the supplies you need in either the trunk or back of your vehicle. Please always wear your gloves.
Come out early on Second Saturdays, come by the office located at northeast corner of Buckner and Garland Rd to pick up supplies, and help us keep the shores of White Rock Lake clean and sparkling!
Can’t make it on a second Saturday? No worries, you can still join the effort. Contact us to arrange a special clean up day and time for your group. We’ll get you set up with supplies and help you find a spot that needs special attention. We’d love to meet you!
