SEEKING VOLUNTEERS: The Miracle League of the Triangle
September 6 - November 6
In 2004, after watching a television program about the national Miracle League, local businessmen Robin Rose and Tony Withers were inspired to establish the Miracle League of the Triangle. The goal was simple–provide children with special needs the opportunity to play America’s favorite pastime. Their hope was to have 40 children and at least 100 volunteers for Opening Day.
Sign-up for players and volunteers is occurring now. Who Can Play? There’s something about the game of baseball that lights up a player’s eyes. It’s an experience that everyone deserves. But for individuals facing physical or cognitive challenges, that opportunity is often unavailable or can be a difficult first step. The Miracle League of the Triangle is a fully inclusive program. Anyone (age 5 and up) with a diagnosed disability or IEP/504 plan may be eligible to participate. Volunteer Opportunities: Buddy, Coach, Game Day Help, Group.
